ROCKY MOUNTAIN HEALTH CLUB CLASS DESCRIPTIONS All R.M.H.C classes are taught by certified instructors. Each instructor has their own style which makes every class unique! And above all...have fun! YOGA A low intensity, movement based yoga class. This class is taught by Liz Adams. You can find more yoga classes at Liz's studio (just 1/2 mile east of the health club) HEART OF THE ROCKIES GENTLE YOGA ZUMBA A Latin based cardio party. The basic class will start with an intro to the steps (Calypso, Salsa, Meringue, Cumbia), then go into party mode for the remainder of class. All levels are welcome, it's all about having fun! PILATES MAT AND BALL CLASSES An exercise system focused on improving flexibility and strength for the total body. Alternatives will be offered for all levels. We perform a series of controlled movements, to work the core of the body (including the abs and back). The Core Ball workout is a fat burning workout which includes toning and strengthening the core of the body. One of the best no-impact workouts available at Rocky Mountain Health Club. SILVER SNEAKERS SilverSneakers offers an innovative blend of physical activity, healthy lifestyle and socially oriented programming that allows older adults to take greater control of their health. The award-winning* SilverSneakers Fitness Program is a proven, results-oriented program that enables older adults, often burdened with chronic conditions, to take charge of their health and maintain an active, independent lifestyle. Qigong Chaoyi Fanhuan Qigong is a relaxation form of qigong. Unlike other forms of qigong which attempt to absorb energy, CFQ also attempts to release energy, promoting ease of movement and relaxation. CORE DEVELOPMENT (Beginner Pilates) The first in a series of Pilates-based classes to build core strength. Recommended for those who are new to Pilates-based movement, have not exercised in a while, or who experience muscle-related pain. It focuses on breath, strengthening the deep postural muscles that support the spine, increasing body control, and slow, precise, flowing movement. TONING (INSTRUCTORS CHOICE) Class taught by alternating instructors using weight, bars & bands for an intense toning workout. *A great class for someone who enjoys variety! SPINNING® R.M.H.C Instructors are Johnny G certified. Classes offered in our spinning room. * Group bicycle classes for everyone. * This class is not just for advanced cyclists. Participants can go at their own pace, whether you have raced in the Tour de France, or have never been on a bike. The bicycle movement is commonly used for rehabilitation after a knee injury. There is no bone, tendon or ligament impact on a spinning bike. CYCLING Group bicycle class for all ages and ability levels. If you go to spinning® you will want to take this class also. This class is not just for advanced cyclists. Participants can go at their own pace, whether you have raced in the Tour de France, or have never been on a bike. 1 hour class held in the spinning room downstairs. LOW IMPACT INTERVAL Low intensity workout held in the evenings instructed byJoelle. Joelle has a great high energy workout incorporated with great music. STEP/ INTERVAL An aerobic workout utilizing a step. *Some classes will incorporate weights at the end of class and some will use "interval" training to bring the heart rate up for short intervals during the class. * All classes include an abdominal workout at the end. ULTIMATE ABS/ULTIMATE TONING Starting with a thirty minute session designed to tone and strengthen the core of the body, then moving into toning the second half hour of class using weight, bars & bands for an intense toning workout.
